BioWelcome to the LiveJournal of Kryal Castle.
You may have heard a rumour that the castle had been sold. This is correct.
The (hopefully) new owners wish you welcome to the Kryal Castle LiveJournal.
We have a lot of plans for the castle. Many previous visitors to the castle will know that things had, frankly, become a little sad. We (the new owners) intend to change this. Over the first twelve months we have many changes and improvements we need to make. The changes will continue on an ongoing basis as we believe that in order for the castle to be first rate, we will need to continually improve the surroundings, displays and general things that go 'bang'.
A Castle FAQ:
1. Are you in any way associated with the previous owners? No
2. Are the previous owners in any way associated with the castle? No
3. Are you mad for taking on such an awesome task? Quite possibly
4. What sort of changes do you anticipate making? Wow. Big question. For starters, we will be removing a lot of things that aren't particularly appropriate, eg non period items such as recent medical equipment.
5. How come? The new owners are associated with medieval re-enactment groups. Through those associations, we know what is supposed to go in a castle and what is not.
6. Do you have an overall plan for the castle? Yes. We plan that ultimately the castle will be a wonderful, educational and exciting place to visit to see first hand how a living, breathing castle works. This is our dream. If you see someone in old fashioned clothes (garb, to use the correct parlance), they are likely to be doing work for the castle in a medieval way.
7. Are you sure you aren't mad? Ah, do the insane ever truly understand the nature of their insanity?
8. I'm really not that into 'medieval' stuff. I just like watching girlies with tight tops on and having a laugh. That is quite cool. We still intend to have a lot of 'fun' stuff. We will be holding special themed events all the time to engage people in things they recognise. Think Monty Python and The Holy Grail. Think Men in Tights...
9. OK I'm kinda interested, but I'm confused as to why you have a LiveJournal. Elementary, really. It is a medium through which people can find information about what the owners have recently improved/replaced/set fire to/catapulted to the stars, and what is coming up. There are a lot of special events such as jousting, different fighting displays, themed dinner evenings etc. This is one way to find out about these things.
